Someone asked me if the idea of IGiggIt! came from American Idol.  Not really. The idea came as I was surfing the net looking for good music-specifically Myspace.

Myspace is great for what it is-a Social Network. What it isnt is a place where people can look for new music easily.  Its actually quite hard.  I ended up clicking on Bands friends looking for other bands to listen to and not really finding anything I like.

IGiggit! is meant to put music that other people think is good at forefront in an easy to navigate manner. Through a complex system of tags and categories, I hope it will make it easier to find music I like and can relate with quicker.  I spend too much time online as it is, sometimes I just want to find good music and do other things around the house.

So, American Idol is a corporate machine bent on exploiting the fact that they can dictate good music by putting it in your face every week. Don’t get me wrong, there is talent from that show but talent all starts sounding the same after a while.

My hope is for IGiggIt! to be a portal for the street corner musician thats never really had an interest in pop stardom to be heard by the masses, not for money or fame, but for the joy of sharing his heart and soul and love of music
